Throughout its history, Erketz has tried to broaden as much as
possibleits program, covering dances from different areas of the
Basque Country and therefore getting a great musical and visual
treasure. The cooperation with other groups has been very important
for the learning of the dances.
During the 2002 - 2003 season the Erketz's program is composed of
the next dances:
|
Dances of Gipuzkoa:
'Soinu Zaharrak' or 'old melodies'
|
Dances of Bizkaia:
'Jota' of Arratia and Sardiñeras
|
|
|
|
|
Dances of Nafarroa:
Ingurutxo of Iribas
Dance of Otxagabia
Irradaka of Urdiain
|
Dances of Behenafarroa:
Carnival of Luzaide
|
Besides these dances, there is one in particular which identifiees
with Lasarte-Oria. This takes the name of 'Witch
Dance of Oria' (in euskera), wich is being danced
from the very beginings of the group.
Erketz is also proud of taking part in the scenic Show called 'Basque
Views' toghether with the accordion orchestra ' Zero
Sette ' and the 'Alboka' chorus, both of them from
Lasarte-Oria.
This show has a big artistic value and it has always been performed
succesfully.
